Join the Schuylkill Canal Association on
CANAL DAY 2003
Sunday June 29th, 9 AM to 5 PM, at Lock 60 and St. Mike’s Park.

Join SCA for a full day of fun and excitement with your whole family. Start your day off with a challenge, run the Schuylkill River Trail Run, which will begin an hour earlier at 9 AM this year then go right into the Fishing Derby for kids 12 & under.

From there you can do a variety of events:
  • Civil War Living History program
  • kayak demonstrations
  • the Canal Joust
  • kids crafts & games
  • music
  • craft vendors
  • food in both locations, continential breakfast served starting at 9 AM at registration table for the Run.
  • and many, many more fun things to do!!

All parking will be at St. Mike’s Park. SCA is asking for a $5 per car load donation as you pull into the lot. No vehicular traffic will be permitted down Towpath Road after 8 AM unless you are a vendor, musician, participant in the canoe race or a volunteer helping with Canal Day.

It is a great day to come and enjoy with your family and learn a little bit about the history of the Schuylkill Navigation System. Take some time to catch up on what the Association is up to with our ambitious restoration plans.

There are plenty of opportunities to help out that day, if you can give some time to volunteer give SCA a call at 610-917-0021 or email us at schuylkillcanal@mindspring.com.
